Create Falafel With One Can Of Chickpeas
These falafel are an easy cheat’s version of the real thing. Cook a batch and put them in the fridge to eat hot or cold. They will remain fresh for three days if you place them in an airtight container in the fridge.
- One 400g of chickpeas – drained and rinsed
- 1 medium sized red onion – finely chopped
- 2 tbsp of Ras El Hanout spice mix
- 1 egg – beaten
- 1 tbsp of flour
Place all the ingredients into a blender and pulse. Ensure the mixture is not over blended as you want to retain some texture.
Scrape the mixture from the blender and using wet hands form into falafel shapes.
Fry in a couple of tbsp of extra virgin olive oil, turning from time to time until the falafel are crispy on the outside.
Serve with wraps or pitta bread or simply dip into your favourite sauce.
