How to wrap a painting for a gallery

Last week I once again jumped into the deep end. 10:30 Tuesday I decided to present a couple of my paintings to some local galleries and get some feedback. Grabbing the paintings I made my way to the door and then stopped. If I couldn’t find parking spaces close to the galleries I might have a long walk. The prospect of holding two 100cm x 70cm canvasses in the wind on a crowded street didn’t appeal to me. Also, thoughts about the impact of presentation made their way into my head. I decided to wrap the paintings:

  • To protect them from rainfall.
  • To make them look like gifts.
  • So that I would look more professional.

Looking around the house I grabbed some brown wrapping paper and string and wrapped both pieces of work together. It took me five minutes to prepare and I was ready to go.
