I am interested in what people say when they are not speaking. Often the honest part of someone’s character comes through in a micro movement. For example when an eyebrow lifts before a laugh or how someone shifts their weight when they’re nervous. I like to find the humour in these moments because human quirkiness is funny and I look to bring this to my work. The first five images on this page were inspired by an older woman I watched during an Indian wedding celebration. She watched everyone dancing and I sensed she would like to have joined them but didn’t. I set her free.
