Hello, I’m Billie – a self-taught practising commercial and professional illustrator based in St Albans in Hertfordshire. I am mainly interested in children’s literature and editorial.

At the end of 2024 I completed the Pathways Into Children’s Publishing course – a programme designed in response to the lack of under-representation in children’s books. During the course I worked on briefs from the following publishers: Nosy Crow, Bloomsbury, Mundo Azul (Berlin) and Happy Yak (Quarto). For the final brief I was supported by HarperCollins Publishing and illustrated a middle grade fiction book written by Polly Ho-Yen.

When I am not illustrating I like to cook healthy meals and have shared my recipes by self-publishing two cookery books; ‘Flatbread Feasts’ – how to create flatbreads using natural ingredients and ‘One Can of Chickpeas’ which contains over 50 healthy and inexpensive chickpea recipes. I also illustrated and self-published a book of poetry for children called ‘There are Hats.….’
